Changelog

Every real change to the tools, themes and guides on this site, newest first.

An entry is added when something you might notice changes: a new tool, theme or feature, a fix that changes the cards or grids the generators produce, or a corrected word list or figure in a guide. Pages are not re-dated unless their content actually changed, so the dates here, on the guides and in the sitemap match.

The generators are deterministic: a share link always rebuilds the same cards or the same grid. That only holds while the generator itself is unchanged, so if an entry below says the shuffling or placement changed, a link made before that date may produce different cards afterwards. The printed PDF is the permanent record of a game; keep it for any game you need to reproduce exactly.

If a card repeats, a caller sheet misses a word or a puzzle hides a word twice, please report it. Fixes that come from reader reports are noted here. How the generators work is described on the methodology page; when that changes, it is listed below too.

  1. Crosswords.

    • New crossword puzzle maker: type answers and clues, get a connected, numbered crossword with Across and Down clues, an optional word bank, word lengths for phrases, a share link, and a PDF with the answer key on its own page.
    • The word-ideas box can draft answers and clues for a theme, or write clues for answers you typed without one. Only those answers are sent; clues you wrote are never replaced.
    • Ready-made Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas crosswords, listed with the other themes.
  2. Holiday word searches, a standalone caller and picture previews.

    • New Halloween (18 words, 13 x 13, forwards and down only, grades 1-3), Thanksgiving (18 words, 15 x 15, grades 3-5) and Christmas (20 words, 15 x 15, grades 2-5) word searches, each with an answer key. The winter holiday puzzle stays as the mixed-tradition one.
    • The bingo caller now runs number games on its own: 75-ball, 90-ball and 30-ball speed bingo with a board of called numbers, auto-call every 3 to 20 seconds and optional spoken calls. The page address keeps your place, so a reload carries on with the same order. Games made in the bingo maker still open from their share link as before.
    • Theme pages show a printable preview of the card or puzzle, and every tool and theme page shares with a picture.
  3. Word ideas from a theme.

    • The bingo card generator and the word search maker have a new "Get word ideas with AI" box: describe the event or topic and who is playing, and it suggests a list you can use as is, add to your own words, or try again. Only the theme you type is sent; your own list stays in your browser.
    • New AI bingo card generator page with the box open, tips on describing a theme, and how many squares to ask for.
    • The methodology and privacy pages describe how the suggestions are checked and what is sent.
  4. First version of the site.

    • Bingo card generator: 3 x 3, 4 x 4 and 5 x 5 cards from your own word list, with an optional free centre, up to 200 cards per game, a caller sheet in call order, and a print-ready PDF with one, two or four cards per page on Letter or A4 paper.
    • Word search maker: up to 60 words on a grid from 5 x 5 to 40 x 40, with a choice of directions, optional overlapping words, a word bank and a highlighted answer key.
    • On-screen bingo caller for a projector, TV or phone, which reads the whole game from the share link so nothing has to be uploaded.
    • Twelve themed bingo pages and five themed word searches, listed on the themes index, each prefilled with a complete word list.
    • Guides to how many unique bingo cards a word list can make and how to host a bingo game.
    • A plain-language methodology page on how cards and puzzles are generated, what the uniqueness and single-occurrence guarantees mean, and the limits of the PDF export.
